Tailored physiotherapy for dogs, addressing musculoskeletal issues with techniques that enhance flexibility, mobility, and joint health, crucial for high-intensity working dogs prone to injury.
Our sessions reduce risks by strengthening muscle support and offering personalized exercise plans. From muscle tears and strains to post-surgery rehabilitation for various conditions including arthritis and muscle loss, our services prioritise your dog's well-being.
If your dog shows signs of discomfort or altered behaviour, our expert assessments can determine the need for physiotherapy to restore vitality and mobility.
The 4 Step Plan...
You may wonder, what's involved within a Veterinary Physiotherapy session? Introducing the 4 step plan, each step involves several aspects of the session and how we can help your dog.

Step 1: Assessment
A detailed dynamic assessment of how your dog is moving and why. Followed by a hands on assessment to identify any abnormalities within joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons. We look for things such as muscle mass loss, hypertension, pain, spasm, excess heat/swelling of joints, reduced joint range of motion or crepitus. From this detailed assessment we then know what's the most appropriate treatment plan.

Step 2: Treatment
Treatment can consist of massage, myofascial release, acupressure, Infra red therapy, Electro magnetic field therapy, TENS, NMES and stretching. The treatment used will depend on what was identified during the assessment and what is needed to treat it.

Step 3: Exercise Prescription
Just like us humans, canine physiotherapy relies on exercises to be done at home to achieve the best results. Each dog will receive a bespoke exercise plan to cater to their ability and condition. These exercises and techniques can improve muscle mass, strength and flexibility as well as proprioception and nerve conductivity, it all depends on what we are trying to achieve!

Step 4: Home Management
Last, but definitely not least, we will cover all aspects of home life and how we can adapt their surroundings to best suit their needs to prevent pain, stiffness and the reocurrance of injury. We offer advice on walk length/type, best types of harness, techniques to prevent stiffness and lots more!
